The Billionaire Wins the Game The Andersons Book 1 edition by Melody Anne Trevino Creative Literature Fiction eBooks

I don't have a problem with a book not being realistic, after all it is fiction. Most read as a form of escapism. If this were not true we would just read the newspaper all day. My problem with romance novels these days is there is no romance. We have sex...no, not sex...descriptive sex in the first few pages or chapters. The rest of the chapters are more sex and then the book ends rather abruptly when the couple decides they love each other after all. The heroine in this book was described as "strong"...someone who could stand up to rich ogre. That just never happened. Can't we have some depth to these stories and characters who are smart and the sexual tension you have back and forth..sparring...before the sex? Yes, I guess I want romance to return, but therein lies the fantasy, it is easier to describe sex than it is to develop characters and a story. This not the worst I have read but I am just getting weary.

The Billionaire Wins the Game The Andersons Book 1 edition by Melody Anne Trevino Creative Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

This is an awesome book.
Joseph Anderson is retired and he wants grandchildren to fill his hallways. But, his three boys are very stubborn and will not give in to his guilt trips on getting married and having babies. So, he is going to take matters into his own hands. He is going to fix his boys up with their perfect match and watch them fall in love and give him grandchildren.
Lucas is hardworking, he took over for his dad a little over a year ago and even though his dad still helps with the company it is on Lucas now. He is not looking for a relationship. he likes the situation he has now. When he is in need of some company, he has a few women he can call on who know the drill. His dad will not let up on him and his brothers getting married and having kids but they don't want that. Well, at least Lucas thought that way until he met his new assistant.
Amy just graduated from college and was told to call Joseph when she did. She would be honored to work for his company especially right out of school. She met Joseph at a career day at school. She knew she worked hard and it paid off. What Amy doesn't know is that Joseph hired her because she was the perfect wife for Lucas.
When Lucas meets Amy he is blown away at the automatic connection he felt towards her. He was not happy that his dad hired her without him knowing, even though his dad told him that he would take care of any loose ends of his retirement and hiring an assistant was one of them.
They fought their attraction for a while until they couldn't fight it anymore. And one night leads to even more surprises than an awesome sexual experience for both. Even after that one night they continue fighting.
Amy grew up without much family and now that all of her family is gone she is starting to fall in love with all of the family and not just Lucas. But she is right there with Lucas fighting the attraction. When she takes a test and realizes that their one night made more than just a happy night she is afraid.
From first cracking the story, all I could think of was how very strongly the author wrote a toxic male character! Monied, angry, superior, this man knows he will have his way no matter what the woman wants. He even forces her to marry him because she gets pregnant. He refuses to love because it would be a loss of control. The author does try to reverse the toxic story, but it is too little too late. And the woman is weak and willing to be ruled. The author should do people a favor and remove it from shelves/internet or rework it, giving the woman more of a spine than she has.
I read just about everyday and I feel bad saying this, but this was the worst book I have ever tried to read. The main characters were so unlikable, they deserved to be alone. I stopped 75% into the book. At that point, there wasn't one scene that Lucas was remotely nice to Amy. He was down right rude and mean throughout the entire book. And Amy had to be the weakest character ever written. She was so afraid to talk to him, she shook every time. She had no say, she just did whatever he asked, which wasn't much. It sure wasn't a romance. 75% into it and they hadn't gone on a single date, spent any real time together, knew nothing about each other. They had the most boring sex once, with zero chemistry.

Spoiler Alert***** And she became pregnant and he threatened to take the baby away if she didn't marry him. That's when I had enough. There was no way he could have redeemed himself and she was just a coward. I kept waiting for him to be a decent human and her to grow a backbone. He was even bullying her at the first doctor's visit. It was just awful....
**SPOILER ALERT! EVEN THOUGH YOU COULD PRACTICALLY FIGURE THE BOOK OUT WITHOUT MY WRITTEN SPOILERS.**

This book was so cliché. I sort of knew it was going to be like that but I couldn't stop myself from reading it even with all the bad reviews. It was free so what can I say.

First off let's start off with annoying Amy. She wasn't very mature for a woman of her age. She was like a high school student. I wanted to strangle her more than once. And surprise surprise she was a virgin. Amy gets pregnant the night she loses her virginity like that's another "surprise". She loves the hero but no she can't tell him that because it will "ruin her life forever" *rolls eyes* I can't...

The hero of the book Lucas is a arrogant millionaire that comes from money so he thinks all the women of the world is after his plate of gold. Clearly Amy isn't after his money she didn't grow up with money she was a orphan from a drug addict mom. But Lucas doesn't give a s*** how nice she is or how new everything to her is. He just flat out thinks she is a money grabbing whore.

Together they're both fighting that thing called love and neither one of them want to admit their true feelings.

This book was a bust it was agonizing for me to finish reading I just ended up skipping to the last two chapters. It was free so you get what you pay for, and I didn't pay so I didn't get much from it.
I don't have a problem with a book not being realistic, after all it is fiction. Most read as a form of escapism. If this were not true we would just read the newspaper all day.
