Oh my goodness! I was blown away by the exceptional writing and intriguing story line of this latest book by author Jaime Jo Wright. I have become an avid fan of her writing style and was overly excited to receive an advance copy of her newest book, The Curse of Misty Wayfair (I have since ordered 2 more copies to give away). But I was taken by surprise with the depth of suspense and mystery this offering brings. Wright delivers another unstoppable read riddled with unnatural suspense, familial secrets, and sensitive topics. I could not put down my copy of this delicious read until I finished every last enticing morsel.

The dual story line follows the lives of two heroines, living a century apart, as they seek to find purpose and meaning for their lonely, often unorthodox lives. While each struggles to sort through the tangled details of lives that have gone before them and how missteps of the past have impacted their present, they are faced not only with real physical dangers, but with their own shortcomings and failures.

Wright brings an intricately woven story full of deception, hurt, love and redemption. Along the way she delicately and respectfully brings her readers into the world of autism, dementia, and mental illness. She shines a light on subjects seldom discussed or explored and brings dignity where scorn and ridicule often hold court.

This story will carry the reader seamlessly from one era to the next in a smooth and easy pace. But it is also one to pick up a second time; to slow down and savor every word, every detail and every spine-tingling moment.

I love Jaime Jo Wright! She’s such a fantastic author. Her books draw you in. I’ve had the hardest time putting this book down! I read 150 pages in a day. Fantastic book! I would highly recommend any of her books to anyone who is looking for an excellent book to dive into. I love it even more because there is mystery and romance, but nothing vulgar or inappropriate.
This is a great book. It is creepy, but yet still points the reader to find their identity in their creator.
I have always loved how Jamie Jo is able to write characters that readers can relate and the characters in this book is no different .
This book is so well written with its eerie, dark, mysterious atmosphere and sucks you right in.

It intervines the story of two women and on their quest to find out who they are. I loved how it dealt with the history of mental illness and consequences of secrets and lies.
I was blown away by The Curse of Misty Wayfair. Jaime Jo Wright masterfully married my two passions, storytelling and faith. If you could take a look at my bookshelves, you would find books on theology next to the complete collections of Edgar Allen Poe and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.

The Curse of Misty Wayfair was right up my alley!

From the opening scene, Jaime Jo Wright grabbed my attention and refused to let it go. If you think there aren’t any good spooky thrillers in the Christian market, think again! There were some nights that I had to wait until morning to finish the next chapter!

Jaime handled challenging topics with grace and sensitivity, weaving intricate plot lines through a split-time narrative to tie everything back to God’s saving hand. The characters and message of Misty Wayfair will stay with you long after you turn the last page.

This book was so good on so many different levels. I never give detailed reviews because I think people like to read the books themselves. This book though, I could not put down. It was intriguing, deep, spiritual and incredibly amazing. I love this author and her books. I always say the last book I read was my favorite, then I read her new one and it becomes my new favorite.
